Mandela
Mandela is the perfect example of Cafe Granja La Esperanza's production and commercialisation of specialty coffee varietals, which is unique to their farms. First a self pollinated selection from Caturra x Caturra, it was then crossed with the Timor Hybrid for an increased resistance to rust. Another cross was made with Ethiopian landrace varietals such as Sudan Rume, Daleco and Villa Sarchi. Only offsprings that were of quality and are stabilised were selected.
Each cup is velvety, with prominent notes of rum and chocolate, accompanied by the tangy acidity of pineapples and hints of dark chocolate that lingers together with the sweetness of molasses.
Process: Natural
Varietal: Mandela
Origin: Valle del Cauca, Colombia
Tasting Notes: Pineapple, Raisin, Dark Chocolate
Suitable for filter
Available only in 150 grams
Recommended to rest beans for 7-10 days from roast date before consuming
