Esmeralda Leon 73S was harvested from the Leon lot in Hacienda La Esmeralda’s Cañas Verdes farm. Though altitude makes it challenging to grow and harvest in the area, up in the mountains of Boquete do the unique floral and citrus aromatics of Geisha coffee sing brightest. Each micro lot is unique, with exceptional character and pleasing to the palate.

When the harvest is done, the coffee cherries are moved to Hacienda La Esmeralda's mill located in Palmira. Here they are washed and fermented for 68 hours in a sealed tank. Afterwards, for 22 days, the coffee is slow dried on raised beds. They are then dried for another 12 hours on a concrete patio.

With such complexity and brightness, Esmeralda Leon 73S is an extremely clean cup that is both juicy and mouth-watering throughout the experience. Find notes of jasmine and white flowers, which is followed closely by a vibrant and uplifting acidity of citrus fruits. The taste that lingers after is a combination of sweet mandarin and bergamot, an overall signature taste of this coffee.
